    "BATAAN AND BEYOND--MEMORIES OF AN AMERICAN POW" is the personal memoir of the author, John Coleman, who was a USAF officer assigned to Nichols Field with the 27th Material Squadron. The Japanese invaded the Philippines in December 1941. After four months of fighting, the Japanese captured hundreds of American troops to include the author. John Coleman was one of the first and here is his account of 3 1/2 years as a POW--the horrors of the death march, starvation, beatings and much more. VERY detailed account!
