    Description

"SOLDIERING FOR FREEDOM--A GI'S ACCOUNT OF WORLD WAR II" is the personal memoir of the author, Herman Obermayer, who was a young 21-year-old Jewish sergeant in the U.S. Army's 1291st Combat Engineer Battalion medical detachment and here is his memoir and copies of letters he wrote home from France and Germany. Interestingly, he was present at the Nuremberg Trials and described Goring and others during that time. This memoir and letters are very detailed as to his daily duties and to his off-duty time. A MESMERIZING read!
