    "TWENTY-TWO MONTHS' is the 1944-1946 diary and story of James Reding, the author, a young sailor in the U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Fergus (APA 82)--(APS = Amphibious Personnel Assault) in the Pacific during the final months of WWII. He participated in the Okinawa and Philippine campaigns, the initial occupation of Japan, and the preparations for the Operation Crossroads atomic bomb experiments at Bikini Atoll.   SEE ATTACHED PHOTO FOR AUTHOR'S SIGNATURE.
