EDITOR'S FORWARD:
This issue of IMPACT is devoted entirely to the tactical air war in Europe and centers largely around General Vandenberg's 9th Air Force.  Space considerations required that the scope of the article be limited.  Therefore, the RAF tactical effort has not been included and the Strategic Air Forces and RAF Bomber Command enter the story only at points where their operations had an obvious bearing on the immediate tactical situation.
IMPACT was a monthly magazine published by the Office of the Assistant Chief of Air Staff, Intelligence, USAAF, from April 1943 through September 1945.
Distributions was to squadrons throughout the world.  Its purpose, as explained in prefaces in the first issue, was twofold:  "So that Air Force units and the Army as a whole might be informed of current developments" and to disseminate intelligence and operational data.

The "CONFIDENTIAL" designation is obscured with a black marker throughout the magazine.
The upper right corner of the front cover is neatly clipped.
