RARE - VINTAGE RETRO - RALPH LAUREN - SILVERPLATE FORMAL AFFAIR PATTERN WINE CHILLER / BUCKET - RL LOGO STAMPED - RETIRED/DISCONTINUED PATTERN - NEW, NEVER USED - NEW IN BOX - RETAIL PRICE 3.50
A very nicely made, silver plate iron, wine chilling bucket. Retired / Discontinued “Formal Affair” Pattern, With Braided Knot accents. I purchased this years ago. It has been stored in the box, but never used. The silverplate finish could use a polish, and/or cleaning, from sitting in storage. I did not want to polish, or wash it, as it still has the original retail sticker attached to the bottom. Iconic RL Logo, stamped on bottom.
This is a beautiful piece and nicely made, as one would expect from Designer Ralph Lauren. Beautiful, functional chiller, to chill one (1) bottle of wine, champagne, or other spirits, at a time. Looks great sitting on your bar, or counter top. Could also be used as a gorgeous home decor piece, with a dried, or silk, flower arrangement. Would go nicely in a Farmhouse themed room, filled with a rustic cotton ball stems.
I think this pattern was retired in 2007, or so, from what I can find online. (Ralph Lauren also featured Flatware/Silverware in this Pattern, and China.) I did not find another for sale, during my research. There are some very slight, cosmetic imperfections, commensurate with vintage silverplate pieces. They may, or may not, be removed with polishing, but are not obvious, and do not detract from the beauty and shine, of this holder. Any slight flaws do not compromise the sturdiness, or soundness of this piece. It is NOT wobbly, nor flimsy, yet is lightweight and sturdy. It weighs 1-1/2 pound, on it’s own. A very cool, unique, retro Ralph Lauren Bar Ware piece!
The original box for this piece does show some signs of display/storage wear and tear. It is very sturdy, and has the original packing materials inside. The original RL manufacturer tag is still on the back of the box.

**Items are stored and shipped from my clean, non-smoking, and pet free, home. However, I do have scented candles, incense, and perfume. Some of my used clothing items may also smell like scented detergent and/or fabric softener. Some New With Tags items may have absorbed “good/clean” scents, from being stored in my clean home. If tags are intact, the clothing IS still new, and unworn! Any scents in clothing, should be easily removed with laundering. I do NOT buy, or sell, items with strong cigarette smoke odors, as I have found it can be nearly impossible, to completely remove those odors from fabric. However, I do not always know the history of some vintage items I sell! Therefore, if you are super-sensitive to scents, or allergic, please DO NOT bid, or buy, as I cannot always guarantee “100% scent free” items. I will not accept returns based on scents.
