Modernist OA FRANCE pewter SYMBOL-large CHAMPAGNE ice BUCKET by Eric Berthes WOW!
Offered for purchase is this amazing contemporary modernist champagne ice bucket designed by Eric Berthes for AO France. AO (l’Orfèvrerie d’Anjou) has been producing fine metalwork in France since 1710. This piece is called Symbol Sink on the OA website, and is the large version of this design featuring a polished pewter exterior with a gold painted interior. It can hold 4 bottles or 2 magnums of Champagne. Dimensions are 18" wide x 17" front to back x 13.5" tall at the back x 9.25" tall at the front. Condition is very good to excellent with no dents and minor signs of use. There are a few light scratches inside (see photo,) 3 small dark spots on the base (see photos,) and a few small light scratches on the outside that are nearly impossible to photograph. There are a couple of tiny fleabite nicks to the upper edge (see photo,) and a few along the edge of the base as well. None of these minor blemishes would be noticed when being used in a party setting, but only if you pick the bucket up and look for them. This piece is currently available brand new priced at 2309 Euros on the OA website, and 95 Australian Dollars on another website. This gently used example is available for a lot less...
