    Description

    This is a rare and exquisite French, Gothic design oval champagne cooler or ice bucket. It is likely Baccarat or of the "style" and is deeply hand cut heavy, thick lead crystal. It has a crystal lid with a silver flower and leaves as a knob. It is a perfect size to be used as a champagne bucket, wine cooler or ice bucket. Although it is unsigned, the design and cuttings are deep and of top-quality workmanship with small diamond rows interspersed with deep cut "gothic" windows. Both the lid and the base are extremely finely cut with the exceptional 32 rays cut into each one. This is very similar to Baccarat crystal of this period. Many of the fine cut crystal of this period had only paper labels, which have long since disintegrated.
    Condition: Excellent - there are no cracks nor major chips -there are small 2 chips on the lid rim and a very tiny one on the center exterior of the lid. (Please see photos) It has been lovingly cared for well over a hundred years.
    Size:  5" tall, 6 1/2" across the long oval and 5" across the short oval. The quality, size and weight to celebrate with a special bottle of champagne!
