1946, Argentia: Sentinel of the North Atlantic. Navy 103, HB, G, PLUS BONUS

Description

This is the the story of Task Force 24 and US Naval Operating base at Argentia, Newfoundland.  It includes the meeting of Roosevelt and Churchill in Newfoundland August 1941.  Large format hardback measuring about 12" by 9". Embossed textured blue covers showing destroyer and patrol bomber, with gilt rubbed cover titling.  Unpaginated, looks to be about 100 pages.  There is some light waviness of page bottoms and tops throughout but no evidence of a moisture event - maybe the result of age and being stored at points in a damp environment; there is no odor to the book.  GREAT PHOTOS THROUGHOUT including one showing Frank Sinatra! (see listing photo).
TWO BONUSES:
1)  Two full pages of shipmate signatures with addresses/comments (shown in listing photo), going into a third page.
2)  An official 8" by 5" Navy Photo of USS Point Cruz  CVE-119) was found in the book. It will be stored in a plastic sleeve for storage and shipment.
